Get the Client Involved in Litigation Support How can your use of a Litigation Support system help the client?
You may wish to go further and have documents entered on the system at the client's premises, or even by the client. This is not only consistent with the degree of knowledge which clients are now supposed to have, but is an opportunity for firms to bind the clients to them before litigation commences. We envisage that a firm would supply the clients with a licensed copy of the software when a dispute seems likely and have the clients enter details about relevant documents as they arise (perhaps sending large quantities out to be scanned externally first). Then, when the litigation starts, the Disclosure material is largely ready, counsel can be given a copy of the software and data, and the team is able to exploit the new rules to the clients’ advantage. |
